Mission, Vision and Values

Releasing potential of people

Our mission, vision and core values underpin everything we do at esg., and they have played a great part in getting us to where we are today. Over the last few years we have grown considerably as a business and gone through a number of changes, but we have stayed true to these principles.

We strive to be the best, do our best and achieve the most to support people to improve their lives for the better through work or acquiring new skills. And we do this through a common understanding and belief in these ideals, which have shaped our behaviour for the last 20 years. These are:

Work in partnership – our success is dependent on working together with like-minded, inventive partners who are as keen to deliver the right solutions for our jobseeker and learner customers as we are.

Show respect - we are proud of the diversity of our people and our customers and celebrate that individuality. Providing equality of opportunity for all and treating each other fairly and with respect underpins everything we do.

Act with honesty – it is important for all our stakeholders to have confidence in what and how we deliver. Operating honestly and with integrity is a fundamental part of the esg culture.

Accept accountability – we encourage people to act responsibly and support them to make the most of opportunities presented to them. We empower our people to deliver results.

Be ambitious – we encourage people to excel in all that they do, inspiring others around them to release their potential.

Our mission

Our people are committed to delivering a world class service to individuals, their communities and employers to break the cycle of benefit dependency and increase the productivity of the UK workforce. We work in partnership with private and voluntary sector organisations to achieve this and to deliver excellence in provision for our funders and our customers.

Our vision

  • To help individuals acquire the right skills and experience required to add real value to businesses and realise their own potential.
  • To become the first choice for all our stakeholders and achieve a leading position in the minds of government departments as a provider of integrated skills and employment solutions.
  • To create a company recognised for quality and excellence and make a positive contribution to both the skills and employability agendas.
  • To develop a sustainable business that creates jobs and career progression for our people and for our customers.
  • To change lives for the better and help people to develop and progress.
