Employment Minister visits esg.’s Coventry office

On Thursday 15 September we welcomed a very important visitor, Employment Minister Chris Grayling, to our sencia. Work Programme office in Coventry. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase our back to work expertise and how we draw on both the employment and skills sides of our business to stand out from our competitors.

We held vocational training sessions in silver service for the hospitality industry and manual handling and positioning training for the care industry, both of which the Minister was happy to take part in.

There was also a retail and customer service occupational workshop and a question and answers session giving Mr Grayling the chance to find out first-hand what esg.’s customers think of the Work Programme, and they in turn asked how the government’s future plans would affect them. He even presented our first customer into work and his employer with certificates acknowledging their achievement and support respectively.

Mr Grayling said: “This is all about giving these providers the freedom to do what works. It’s very much about what (the provider) feels works for the local market. They are training to the needs of local employers.”

The visit was featured in local paper the Coventry Telegraph as well as on radio station Mercia.
